I am a PTUK trained and registered Play Therapist and Creative Counsellor for Children and Young People, offering therapy sessions for children and young people aged 7-18, from my garden studio near Cranbrook in Kent.

​Life is full of challenges for young people and, although many of these can be managed within families, sometimes it can help to seek professional support. My approach is person-centred, which means I take time to build a safe therapeutic relationship with the child/young person, in which they feel safe and unjudged. 

​

It can often be hard to put our thoughts, feelings and experiences into words. For children aged 7-10, I usually offer play therapy. Play is the child's natural form of communication and expression. They will be offered a range of play items and art materials to help give a voice to their internal world. I will enter their play and follow their lead, enabling them to express themselves through the metaphor of play. 

For older children, creative counselling is often more appropriate. This is a type of talking therapy which offers the young person the time and space to explore what they need to, gently guided by me. I offer creative materials alongside talking, with the aim of boosting their self-understanding and ultimately helping them find strategies to cope with their challenges.
